Every 10 years the Census Bureau counts every person living in the United States. The Census is a self-response, 9 question survey that will be sent to every resident in March asking basic information about you and your household.
The IAC Civic Engagement program aims to do Census education by partnering with SAAPRI, ICIRR, Asian Americans Advancing Justice, Muslim Civic Coalition and others to ensure our communities are counted in the upcoming Census.
IAC will conduct Census outreach through tabling at events, canvassing, hosting workshops, and providing language assistance in South Asian languages in the Spring. We plan on working with our South Asian population residing in Rogers Park, West Ridge, Skokie, Lincolnwood, Evanston, and Morton Grove.
We are always looking for volunteers. If you would like to be involved with IAC ‘s Census work, please fill out an interest form here.
